Sometimes people who appreciate the architectural stylings of historic homes, purchase them without really knowing how to go about restoring them. In many instances they may need work and probably  lack some of the features needed for modern day living. I have put this section together, to simply offer some guidance from other people who have already gone thru this process with amazing results. Often, it's about retaining the fundamental design elements and building materials while upgrading the mechanics and incorporating newer features, while remaining true to its period.
