Formerly Newark Catholic Archdocese and Seton Hall Seminary
In 1927, the Catholic Archdiocese of Newark decided it was time to move its seminary from Seton Hall in South Orange to a larger facility and they settled on the Darlington estate in Ho Ho Kus (now Mahwah). They moved into the existing Crocker-McMillin Mansion and then also built Walsh Hall and a chapel in 1937.
